This includes an invite from the Director of the Commonwealth-American Current Affairs Unit inviting Len Ford (Personal Assistant to the President of the AEU) to a farewell drink in honour of William Gaussman, the Labor Information Officer at the US Embassy. In reply, Ford refers to the 'unspeakble subversion present in the UK political field' and holding 'this Red influence at bay' and the part played by Gaussman. Gaussman has thanked Ford with a letter and a warm greeting on the title page of the book.endpaper.
