Unlike every other superhero, she also has a secret history.Like every other superhero, Wonder Woman has a secret identity. Unlike every other superhero, she also has a secret history.Drawing from an astonishing trove of documents, including never-before-seen private papers, Harvard historian and New Yorker staff writer Jill Lepore reveals the fascinating family story that sparked the invention of the most popular female superhero of all time. Delving into the life of Wonder Woman's eccentric creator, psychologist William Moulton Marston, Lepore her feminist origins- from the warrior princesses of the Amazon, to suffragists including Emmeline Pankhurst, and the women Marston shared his life with - his wife and his mistress. Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine. 1st Edition. Hard cover. A fine copy in a fine dust jacket. Wonder Woman was created in 1941and became the most popular female superhero of all time. She is still gaining fans today with the blocker buster movies and an other one soon to come out. She was important in fighting the Nazis in the 40's. Her creation by William and his 2 wives is a true and very strange story. To understand this very original superhero you need to know there story. When I was a young girl in the late 40's I was sick. I remember waiting for my dad to get home from work. He often brought me a new copy of "Wonder Woman". Reading these comics at a very good age and being a gift from a beloved father certainly shaped by life.
