Red cloth hardcovers with light wear and soiling. Ink signature on front free endpapers. A few chips and tears which do not usually affect text. Most are in vol. 1. Vol. 1 pp. 107-122 has pages torn with slight loss of text. First edition of the collected poems edited by Aitken and featuring his "Memoir" of the author. Printed at the Chiswick Press, well know for its quality production of fine volumes. Robert Burns (759-1796) was a celebrated and popular Scottish poet associated with both the Scottish Enlightenment and British Romanticism. Includes the poet's classics such as "The Cottar's Saturday Night," "Bonnie Dundee," "My Love, she's but a Lassie yet," "A red, red Rose," and "To A Mouse".
