Just as readers of print materials must evaluate the source of their information, it's up to the users of the World Wide Web (WWW) to become critical comsumers of information. This book gives teachers the help they need to get students started doing research on the WWW. The teacher information section gives suggestions for evaluating Web pages for classroom use and includes a glossary of Internet terms.

Six lesson units using bookmarked sites are provided. Site and lesson topics include: planets, animals, the 50 states, the White House, and a Native American Tribe. Each unit is comprised of a whole group lesson, a small group lesson, and an individual project - allowing students to progress from a lesson which models the computer skills and techniques they will need to use to a guided lesson to a project that allows independent practice.

The small group and individual projects have student directions that can be displayed by the computer to help students work independently.

There are note-taking forms and templates to scan for creating reports on the computer.
