"More Than Friends," a romance told from an eighth-grade boy's perspective, is a tale of young love, sexual awakening, and middle school humor. Shy, sensitive Josh and bold, brash Adam, schoolmates and baseball team buddies, find themselves in competition for the the affection of Eve who has just moved into their neighborhood. Both boys are smitten, but Eve seeks only their friendship, while the boys want more. Adam chooses an aggressive approach in contrast to Josh's subtler style. They battle for Eve's attention on the baseball field, on their school bus, and the school cafeteria. When Josh spies Adam kissing Eve at a school dance, he thinks he's lost her, but the contest has only begun.
