Mark Price reminds us that the cold, gray part of life, which is death, is as inevitable as the season of winter. No one can skip by it and go straight to spring and the resurrection—because this journey travels through the valley of the shadow of death. The witness of the Gospels reminds us to recognize that both the Christ who dies and the Christ who is raised is the Christ we are called to follow. The season of Lent is the time to practice walking in that way. The good news is that the way of Christ is the way of death that leads to life. Following the Way offers the opportunity and challenge to follow the way of Christ by studying the Revised Common Lectionary scripture readings for Lent, Year C. A leader’s guide written by Nan Duerling is included in this study book. It contains Bible background and suggestions for group activities allowing more flexibility for leading the study. It gives help to leaders for Sunday school or other small groups.

About the Author:
As a Christian educator and pastor, Mark Price has spent most of the last twenty-five years teaching and studying the Bible within the context of congregational ministry. He has served in various-sized churches in Georgia, Kentucky, Virginia, and most recently Tennessee, where he is  presently the Minister for Spiritual Formation on staff at Christ United Methodist Church in Franklin. From 1999-2009, Mark worked for The United Methodist Publishing House as part of the editorial team responsible for the DISICIPLE Bible study program. In that role, he supervised the revision of the foundational DISCIPLE: Become Disciples Through Bible Study course and conceived and developed six studies in the Short-Term DISCIPLE series.

All of Mark's work and ministry is shaped and supported by his family--his wife, Marne', and his two children, Kathryn and Chris--and his particular grab bag of skills and interests.

Mark is a calligrapher/graphic artist, a writing teacher, a musician, a worship space designer, a community theater actor, and an occasional pirate for hire (birthday parties mostly). He loves a roaring fire, a robust cup of coffee, a good book,  Hitchcock movies, classical music, racquetball, college basketball, and breakfast anytime at the Waffle House
