Mennonites encounter Hinduism (Hindu thought and practice) : an annotated bibliography - Softcover

Religious pluralism has existed for eons; awareness of it grows with proximity and exposure. More North American Mennonites have been learning about Islam and Judaism; the hope here is to broaden religious insight and meaning by encounter with authentic Asian religious pluralism through rich Hindu thought and practice. Interfaith Wisdom emerges through personal confession alongside openness to difference. Mennonites and Hindus learn about and from each other, in part through symbols. A cappella hymns, such as "Teach Me Thy Truth" with words and music by Mennonites, and a Hindu temple as pictured on the front cover symbolize features with distinct meaning. So too do service projects often sponsored or engaged in by Mennonites and the eternal sound and transcendent unity of the Hindu mantra "OM".
