From Library Journal:
Longtime sportswriter Linn ( Steinbrenner's Yankees , LJ 5/15/82) has written a breezy, anecdotal history of the New York Yankees-Boston Red Sox rivalry. Many highlights appear: the sale of Babe Ruth to the Yankees by Red Sox owner Harry Frazee (which earned him a place among the infamous in Boston sports history); the incredible 1941 season in which Ted Williams hit .406 and Joe DiMaggio had a 56-game hitting streak; the fateful playoff games between the two teams in 1949 and 1978. This entertaining book has certain regional appeal, although it is not an essential purchase for libraries elsewhere.
