Bonny was a sweet little companion dog living in an East LA trailer park in September 2011, when destiny came knocking at her door. Less than two months later, against all odds, the eight-pound Shih Tzu puppy made her cinematic debut in the multi-million dollar black comedy, “Seven Psychopaths,” written and directed by Irishman Martin McDonagh. The pint-sized actress defied the odds again by winning the coveted Pawscar Award for Best Animal in a Leading Role. Human co-star Christopher Walken calls her, “The greatest dog I ever worked with.” Now you can hear directly from the doggie’s mouth how Bonny vaulted from obscurity to Hollywood fame virtually overnight, while endearing herself to moviegoers around the world!

About the Author:
Small dogs with ponytails used to freak out the author, an award-winning journalist with decades of writing experience and ten writing awards under his belt. However, on Valentine's Day 1987, Jonathan Agronsky's life-long disdain for frou-frou canines was severely challenged when a gold-and-white Shih Tzu puppy named Sasha unexpectedly came into his life through his then-girlfriend (now life partner) Bonnie Fitzpatrick. As time passed, the sweet little Lion Dog’s courage, tolerance, and seemingly unlimited willingness to forgive the sins and imperfections of her closest humans, enabled Jonathan to see not just Sasha, but all of God’s creatures, great and small, including himself, in a far more generous and respectful light. Jonathan's first Shih Tzu book, "Shih Tzu Nation," also published by Buddha Dog Books, was praised by editors at "The New Yorker" and "Texas Monthly" magazines. By publishing his second Shih Tzu book, the author continues to pay forward the incalculably precious gift of what he has learned from the Shih Tzu in his life.
