From Booklist:
K-Gr. 1. New readers can have some holiday fun with this addition to the Happy Honey series. Happy is a dog; Honey is a striped kitten. Honey wants to help with the holiday preparations, but, as might be expected, Happy isn't excited about the prospect: most of his dialogue consists of his saying, "No, no, Honey," as she tries to decorate the tree, wrap the presents, and sing carols. Finally, Happy has an idea. He will ask Honey to help him wait for Santa. What does that entail? A nice long snooze in front of the fireplace. Chapman's standout renderings of the lumbering dog and playful cat, placed against crisp white backgrounds, fit just right with the short but telling text. Kids may see a bit of themselves in the helpful Honey. Ilene Cooper
