About the Author:
German-born Bruno Walter (1876–1962) was a conductor, composer, and writer who worked closely with Mahler as the composer's assistant and protégé.Ernst Krenek (1900–91) was an Austrian-American composer of Czech origin. He explored atonality and other modern styles and wrote many books on music.Erik Ryding's articles and reviews have appeared in Current Musicology, Classic Record Collector, The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, and elsewhere.
