From School Library Journal:
Grade 3-6 During a spring break homework assignment, 12-year-old twins Amy and Jamie rely on her psychic abilities of pre monition and channeling and his reality- grounded techniques to discover what's behind the accidents at the Fanzini Cir cus. Readers have no work to do. The pace gets bogged down by such lengthy explanations as their father's history les son, tying the trouble to the French Rev olution and an all-too-apparent reincar nated evil magician. Using statements such as ``emotion welled up in her,'' An derson tells with boring platitudes rather than showing the action and emotion. This fourth in the series links tedious dia logue with violent incidents and visions that rob readers of a tense tale. They'd be better served by David Adler's Cam Jensen and the Mystery of the Circus Clown (Viking 1983), a story with greater clarity and challenge. Ginny Cain Bur nett, formerly at Hillsboro Pub .
